Lambretta Clutch Drive Disc Guide: Choosing the Right Thickness

The clutch is one of the fundamental parts for the correct functioning and performance of the Lambretta. A key component is the clutch driven disc, available in different thicknesses, each designed to meet specific needs of driving, reliability and technical configuration.

Here is an overview of the three types of shims available for the Lambretta LI, LIS, SX, DL and GP models:

1. Clutch Driven Disc 1.0 mm
The 1.0 mm disc is designed for racing applications or multi-disc configurations. Thanks to its reduced thickness, it allows for greater compression of the clutch pack, improving response and precision in engagement — essential characteristics in high-performance tuning.
Its thinness also allows for an increase in the total number of discs within the same space, thus increasing the available friction surface and improving the torque transmission capacity.

2. Clutch Driven Disc 1.2 mm
The 1.2 mm thickness represents a middle ground between the extreme performance of the 1.0 mm and the robustness of the original 1.5 mm disc. It offers a good balance between durability and reactivity, making it perfect for those looking for a compromise between reliability and improved performance in daily use or light tuning.

3. Clutch driven disc 1.5 mm (original)
The 1.5 mm disc corresponds to the original thickness mounted on many Lambretta Series 1, Series 2, TV2, Series 3, TV3, Special, SX, DL and Serveta models. It guarantees maximum durability and stability over time, ideal for restorations faithful to the original or for those who prefer a traditional and solid clutch.

All discs are made of high quality iron, precision machined to ensure perfect fit and consistent performance.
